Professional Development
Data Analytics and Getting Started with R, Stata and Python.
Our professional development sessions are aimed at developing essential technical skills required for careers in social sciences.
Data Analytics and Analytical Software
We had our first session on 23rd August on the need for data analytics in econ and a basic primer on coding languages like STATA, R, Python, etc (their use, tips on learning them, difficulty level, etc). The session included a basic introduction on each of these languages, along with how they are typically used. The idea of the session was to help one figure out which skill would be the most useful for them to learn. It was meant to serve as a starter session and will be followed up by more detailed sessions on each of these based on interest. This session required no prior knowledge of coding languages but only an open mind and willingness and interest to learn!
